1st arrondissement of Paris, Arrondissement du Louvre is one of the oldest municipal districts in Paris. One of the quarters that make up the district, Les Halles, originates in the Middle Ages. 1st arrondissement includes: Quartier Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois, Quartier Les Halles, Quartier Palais-Royal, Quartier Place Vendôme

1st Parisian arrondissement is located mainly on the right bank of the Seine, but includes the western part of the Île de la Cité. In the north, the district borders on the 2nd, in the west on the Paris 8, in the south (opposite coast) on the Paris 6 and Paris 5, in the east on the 3rd and 4th municipal districts.
