The 8th arrondissement is located on the right bank of the Seine. In the east it borders on the 9th arrondissement, 2nd arrondissement and 1st arrondissement, in the west on the 16th arrondissement, in the northern and northwestern part it borders on the 17th administrative district of Paris. On the opposite bank lies the 7th arrondissement.
